Terms of Service

Effective date:
30 July 2026
Last updated:
14 August 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Matricula. They are between you and the operator of Matricula identified in our Legal Notice (“Matricula”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is separate from these Terms.

1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and the operator of Matricula regarding your access to and use of:

  • The public website at matricula.io
  • The Matricula web application
  • The Matricula mobile applications
  • Related services, features, and content we make available in connection with Matricula

Matricula is a family information and asset-management service that helps households organise and connect information about people, assets, documents, obligations, and related context. In these Terms, “Matricula”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the service provider / operator identified in our Legal Notice.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the service.

The effective date and last-updated date appear at the top of this page. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your understanding of the service but does not replace these Terms.

2. Eligibility and authority

Matricula is intended for adults managing household or family information. It is not intended for children to create independent Matricula accounts.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, and have legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If you use Matricula on behalf of a household, family workspace, or organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms and to manage information and access on that basis.

3. Accounts and authentication

You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it reasonably up to date. You are responsible for securing your devices and the authentication accounts you use to sign in.

Subject to applicable law, and except to the extent Matricula is at fault, you are responsible for activity that occurs through your account. You must notify Matricula promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

Matricula may use third-party identity providers, including Google and Apple, and email-and-password sign-in through our authentication infrastructure (currently Supabase Auth). Matricula never needs your Google or Apple password and does not store email-account passwords on its own servers. Account access may depend on the availability and terms of the selected authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping your email password confidential.

Deleting a login permanently ends that authentication. A later sign-in with the same provider creates a new account and does not restore deleted access to a previous Family workspace.

4. Description of the service

Matricula is an organisational and informational tool. Depending on your plan and configuration, it may help you organise information about people and family members, vehicles, real estate, general assets, pets, documents and external document references, obligations, reminders and expiry dates, activities and important locations, portfolio and net-worth information, a family graph and timeline, and optional AI-assisted features.

  • Matricula is not an official system of record.
  • It does not replace original documents, government registries, professional records, or other authoritative sources.
  • You remain responsible for maintaining original documents and independent backups where appropriate.
  • Features may change, be added, removed, or remain in beta or experimental form.
  • Availability may vary by platform, country, subscription tier, or device.

5. No professional advice

Matricula does not provide:

  • Legal advice
  • Financial or investment advice
  • Tax advice
  • Medical advice
  • Insurance advice
  • Safety or emergency services
  • Government or regulatory advice

Portfolio values, net-worth calculations, exchange rates, reminders, AI responses, and other generated or aggregated information are informational only. You must independently verify information before making significant decisions.

6. User content and ownership

Consistent with our Privacy Policy:

  • You retain ownership of the content you submit to Matricula.
  • Matricula does not claim ownership of your private user content.
  • You grant Matricula a limited, non-exclusive licence only as technically necessary to host, process, transmit, display, back up, and otherwise operate the service.
  • That licence ends when the content is deleted from the service, subject to reasonable backup, retention, and legal requirements as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of content you submit, and you must not upload content you have no right to use.

This licence does not grant Matricula a broad marketing, sublicensing, or content-commercialisation right. Details about AI processing and related data practices are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Matricula is a shared Family workspace administered by Family Administrator and Owner accounts (the admin and owner roles). Ordinary members cannot destroy the Family dataset by deleting their login. Shared Family data remains while another Family Administrator or Owner continues to operate the Family. A final Administrator must transfer administration to an eligible Contributor before leaving. If no eligible Contributor successor exists, deleting the final Family Administrator or Owner deletes the Family dataset after explicit confirmation, as described in the Privacy Policy. Matricula does not independently verify that an administrator is an adult; administration follows assigned roles. A professional, child, reader, or pending-invite login is not enough to keep a Family alive.

7. Information about other people and minors

Because Matricula may store information about family members, children, and dependants:

  • You must have an appropriate legal basis, authority, or legitimate reason to enter information about another person.
  • Parents and legal guardians are responsible for information entered about minors.
  • You should avoid recording unnecessary sensitive information.
  • You are responsible for household-member invitations, access permissions, and shared-workspace administration within your control.
  • You must not misuse Matricula to monitor, profile, impersonate, or harass another person.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use Matricula to:

  • Engage in illegal activity
  • Commit fraud or impersonate another person or entity
  • Harass, stalk, or abuse others
  • Conduct unauthorised surveillance
  • Infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights of others
  • Upload malware or other harmful code
  • Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, or security measures
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without our prior written permission
  • Use automated scraping or make excessive requests that degrade or interfere with the service
  • Reverse engineer the service where such restriction is permitted by applicable law
  • Resell, lease, or commercially exploit the service without our permission
  • Interfere with the operation of the service
  • Store or distribute unlawful or seriously harmful material

9. Accuracy, reminders and obligations

Matricula may help you track dates, expiries, reminders, and obligations. You remain responsible for meeting your own deadlines and obligations.

  • Reminders are a convenience and may be delayed, duplicated, suppressed, configured incorrectly, or not delivered.
  • Push notifications, email, operating-system settings, network availability, and third-party infrastructure can affect delivery.
  • You must not rely exclusively on Matricula for passports, licences, insurance, medical matters, payments, legal deadlines, taxes, or other critical obligations.
  • Matricula does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of user-entered information.

10. Documents and external references

Matricula is designed primarily as a lens on your information. It may store document metadata, URLs, or references rather than authoritative document originals.

  • External links may expire, move, become unavailable, or require separate permissions.
  • You are responsible for access rights to linked storage providers.
  • Matricula is not responsible for content controlled by third-party document or storage services.
  • You should retain independent copies of critical documents.

11. Maps, locations and navigation

Where map or location features are available, map data, locations, routes, points of interest, and geocoding can be incomplete or inaccurate.

  • Matricula is not a navigation or emergency-response service.
  • You must follow road rules, posted instructions, and real-world conditions.
  • You should not interact with the service in an unsafe manner while driving.
  • External map applications operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

12. Portfolio, valuation and financial information

Values, exchange rates, market data, asset estimates, and net-worth calculations may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. They are estimates and informational tools, not professional valuations.

Matricula does not execute investments, hold client funds, or act as a broker, bank, accountant, or financial adviser. You must verify values independently before making financial, tax, insurance, or legal decisions.

13. AI-assisted features

Where AI-assisted features are available, AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. You must review AI output before relying on it. AI proposals must not be treated as professional advice or authoritative facts.

  • You remain responsible for actions you approve.
  • Matricula may use third-party AI providers as disclosed in the Privacy Policy.
  • You must not submit information to AI functionality that you are not authorised to process.
  • Matricula may apply filters, context limits, and permission controls but cannot guarantee error-free output.
  • AI features may change or be disabled.

For data-processing details, including any training-related practices, refer to the Privacy Policy. These Terms do not make unsupported claims about AI training or retention beyond that policy.

14. Subscriptions, trials and payments

Matricula may offer free and paid functionality. Current plans, prices, and included features are described in the product and on the marketing site and may change prospectively. Exact prices, billing intervals, and trial lengths are those shown in the product or checkout at the time of purchase and are not restated here.

  • Where you purchase a paid plan, billing period, automatic renewal, taxes, and currency handling are presented at checkout or in your account billing settings.
  • Payment processing for applicable paid plans is handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record / payment provider, or by another disclosed payment provider. Paddle’s role for a transaction does not replace disclosure of the Matricula service provider in our Legal Notice. Matricula normally does not receive complete payment-card details.
  • Failed payments may result in suspension or loss of paid features until payment succeeds or you cancel.
  • Trials and promotional offers, if any, are subject to the terms presented when you redeem them.
  • Billing is Family-scoped. Deleting a login does not cancel a Paddle subscription while a Family Administrator remains. Matricula cancels the provider subscription server-side only when the Family itself is deleted.

Cancellation. Cancelling a subscription is different from requesting a refund. You may cancel using the controls available in the product or through the payment provider’s customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewal. Paid-plan access continues until the end of the then-current billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law. If the charge for the current billing period is refunded, paid-plan access may end when the refund is processed.

Refunds. Matricula offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid subscription charges. You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the charge, including both the initial subscription purchase and a subscription renewal. Refunds are processed through Paddle or the applicable payment provider. Subject to applicable law, Matricula may refuse a refund in cases of fraud, refund abuse, chargeback abuse, or other manipulative behavior. After the 14-day period, subscription payments are normally non-refundable, and Matricula does not provide partial or prorated refunds for unused time.

Nothing in these Terms limits statutory withdrawal, cancellation, or other consumer rights — including mandatory refund rights — that cannot be waived under applicable law.

15. Third-party services

The service may depend on or interoperate with third-party services, including authentication providers, hosting and infrastructure, payment services, map providers, notification platforms, AI providers, external document locations, and linked websites or applications.

Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Matricula is not responsible for third-party services it does not control, except to the extent required by applicable law or these Terms. Descriptions of processors and data practices appear in our Privacy Policy.

16. Matricula intellectual property

Matricula software, branding, design, documentation, and original service content remain owned by Matricula or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.

You may not use Matricula trademarks or branding without our prior written permission. Ownership of your user content remains governed by Section 6.

17. Feedback

If you voluntarily submit ideas, suggestions, or other feedback about Matricula, you grant us permission to use that feedback without obligation to compensate you. This does not transfer ownership of your unrelated user content stored in the service.

18. Service availability and changes

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We may perform planned or emergency maintenance. Outages, degraded performance, and third-party dependencies may occur.

  • We may change, add, or remove features, including beta or experimental features.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
  • Where practical, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes to the service.

These Terms do not create a service-level agreement unless we expressly agree one in a separate written contract.

19. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Matricula at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

Matricula may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for material violations of these Terms, security risks, abuse, legal requirements, or non-payment. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy. Immediate action may be necessary for urgent security, legal, or abuse risks.

Upon termination or account deletion, your ability to sign in ends. Shared Family data remains while another Family Administrator or Owner continues to operate the Family. A final Administrator must transfer administration to an eligible Contributor, or explicitly confirm deletion of the Family dataset when no eligible Contributor successor exists, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification (where enforceable), and governing-law provisions—will survive.

20. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, and without limiting any express commitments in these Terms or mandatory consumer protections, Matricula and the service are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Without limiting the foregoing, we disclaim, to the extent permitted by law, warranties regarding:

  • The informational nature of the service
  • Accuracy or completeness of user-entered data
  • Third-party content and services
  • Notifications and reminders
  • AI output
  • Financial and valuation information
  • Maps and location information
  • External documents and links
  • Absolute security
  • Uninterrupted service availability

Nothing in this section excludes duties that Matricula cannot lawfully disclaim, or express commitments actually made elsewhere in these Terms or the product.

21. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Matricula and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or similar damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to these Terms or the service, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Matricula’s aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amounts you paid to Matricula for the service during the 12 months immediately preceding the claim; or (b) EUR 100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is not permitted, or mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.

22. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Matricula from and against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your unlawful content; (b) your intentional misuse of the service; (c) your violation of another person’s rights; or (d) your material breach of these Terms—except to the extent caused by Matricula’s own unlawful acts or omissions.

This provision is not intended as an unlimited indemnity for ordinary, lawful consumer use of the service.

23. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would require application of another jurisdiction’s law, except that mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence may also apply where they cannot be waived.

If you use Matricula as a business or other non-consumer, the competent courts in Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia, have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service, subject to mandatory law.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law that applies to you, including any right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where that right cannot be waived.

Consumers may also seek out-of-court dispute resolution before competent consumer-protection authorities or authorised alternative dispute resolution (ADR) bodies in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia, including procedures available under applicable Serbian consumer-protection legislation. We do not offer the discontinued European Commission Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform as a dispute-resolution mechanism.

These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver by default.

For clarity, the contracting party / service provider operating Matricula is the registered sole proprietor identified in our Legal Notice: MARKO ČIČAK PR AGENCIJA ZA RAČUNARSKO PROGRAMIRANJE HEEM-BA-SHOU KAĆ. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record / payment provider for applicable paid transactions and is not the operator of the Matricula service.

24. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice where required or practical, which may include notice through the website, the application, email, or another appropriate channel. Changes are not intended to apply retroactively to past conduct without notice where notice is required.

If you continue to use the service after revised Terms become effective, that continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different acceptance method. If you do not accept revised Terms, you must stop using the service and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
